In this paper, a double-layer fractional slot winding structure is proposed in the cylindrical permanent magnet linear motor to solve the problem that in low-speed and large-thrust occations, the single-layer winding permanent magnet linear motor (PMSM) is inefficient due to its large distance and large thrust fluctuation. By establishing its finite element analysis model and using the Ansoft software, it is proved that the steady state performance of the Double-layer winding fractional-slot is far superior to the Single-layer winding structure and the Double-layer winding fractional-slot is more suitable for low-speed and large-thrust occations.
