Long stator linear induction motor (LSLIM) is widely applied in electromagnetic propulsion systems. To improve efficiency, save power and reduce the demand for inverter capacity, the long stator is often divided into several segments. The segments are always designed in different lengths to reduce the use of switches. In this paper, a mathematical model of unequal length segmented LSLIM is proposed, which considers both the variation of stator segment length and the coupling relationship between the stator segment and the mover. The simulation results have verified the correctness of the proposed model.
