Abstract
This paper proposes a novel 4-DOF bearingless switched reluctance motor (BSRM) with axial torque poles, which reduce the radial space and increase the radial suspension force density. The torque magnetic circuit is independent of suspension magnetic circuit and the decoupling of the torque and suspension force is achieved in the structure. Firstly, the structure and working principle are introduced. Then, the mathematical model is deduced. Finally, the suspension performance is analyzed by MagNet 3D. The simulation results have verified the correctness of the structure, suspension mechanism, and mathematical models of the BSRM.
