Abstract
This paper considers the feasibility of different electromagnetic launch systems for light space vehicles. The design schemes of linear induction motors and high temperature superconducting linear synchronous motors are proposed according to the launch requirements. This study compares the key performance parameters of the two linear motor topologies. Finally, a small prototype is made and static experiments are carried out to verify the rationality of the linear induction motor design. Through theoretical calculation, FEA simulation and experimental verification, it provides a theoretical basis for the research of linear motors in aerospace electromagnetic launch.
