Abstract
Long stator linear induction motor (LSLIM) is widely applied in electromagnetic propulsion systems. To improve efficiency, save power and reduce the demand for inverter capacity, the long stator is often divided into several segments. In this paper, the long stator is designed in different lengths to reduce the use of switches, a mathematical model of unequal length segmented LSLIM is proposed, which considers both the variation of stator segment length and the coupling effect between the stator segment and the mover. The simulation results have verified the correctness of the proposed model.
