Abstract
In this paper, an MTPA based model predictive thrust control is proposed to eliminate the weighting factor and improve steady-state performance for the linear induction machine (LIM) drive system. The concept of field oriented control is used to derive the condition of MTPA in d-q reference frame. Based on the principle of MTPA and the inherent relationship between thrust and flux, a reference primary flux is introduced as the only criterion in cost function to achieve the control goal without using any weighting factor. Furthermore, to reduce the high flux and thrust ripples caused by single vector, arbitrary double vectors are selected and applied in the control period. Simulation results have demonstrated that the proposed method has smaller flux and thrust ripples and less weighting factor tuning workload than those of the conventional methods.
